Meet our Founder, Daniel Lucio

Daniel C S Lucio is a certified coach, consultant, and healer committed to helping others find personal awakening and to live their authentic lives. Daniel achieves this through coaching and consultancy services rooted in contemporary psychology, wellbeing practice, and alternative healing. Daniel's unique gift is to synthesize diverse knowledge streams into actionable wisdom for his students and clients. This includes professional, spiritual, somatic, and esoteric forms of knowing and being. This plurality allows Daniel to swiftly move people toward their personal and professional goals.

Education and mindfulness training

Daniel began his path of wellbeing and spiritual exploration as a teenager. Daniel holds a Bachelor's in Religious (Buddhist) Studies from Naropa University, the epicenter of buddhist scholarship in the West. Daniel has studied psychology at the graduate and doctoral level, including Organizational Psychology at Claremont Graduate University, Mind-Body Spirituality at Columbia University, and Psychedelic Medicines at UW-Madison. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership at the University of Arizona Global Campus.

Daniel's mindfulness training is rooted in the ancient traditions of zen and of Tibetan buddhism. He has over twenty years of experience as a meditator. Daniel's teaching on meditation is based on the Three Gates Practice, an original technique which focuses on the body as the vehicle to rapidly enter the present moment. He seeks to make meditation more accessible to beginners by targeting the misconceptions common on social media and in pop-culture.

Coaching and consulting experience

Daniel began his coaching career at the Radiant, a wellness and bodywork studio in Brooklyn, NY, which he founded in 2010. Daniel holds various coaching certifications including in Positive Psychology, Self-Management and Behavioral Change, and Addiction Recovery. As an executive coach and consultant, Daniel has worked with management-level leadership of companies such as IBM, Credit Suisse, Mastercard, Salesforce, American Airlines, Etihad Airways, and Microsoft.

International experience and global perspectives

Daniel was born in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Growing up between Brazil and the US, Daniel has always felt at-home in international settings. His work has also been global in scope. Daniel has taught and directed projects in Costa Rica, Brazil, the United States, Germany, Austria, Việt Nam, and Kenya. A global-citizen and adaptable traveler, Daniel speaks mutliple languages and has been to over 75 countries on six continents. Traveling as a backpacker in local communities affords Daniel unvarnished insights into the everyday lives of people around the world. These global perspectives form an integral part of Daniel's professional approach. Daniel draws on themes of flexibility, adaptive communication, compassion, and diversity of thought to find novel solutions for his clients.

Psychedelics and shamanic healing

In addition to his professional and academic achievements, Daniel is an experienced psychedelics guide. He facilitates medicine journeys with 5-MeO-DMT and the ayahuasca of his native Brazil. Through many years as a bodyworker and medicine guide, Daniel has cultivated abilities as a shamanic healer. He is able to heal physical pain, injuries, and energetic blockages with a high success rate. Given Daniel's unique expertise in psychedelics and coaching, he was invited to head the program at Crossroads Treatment Center, a residential psychedelics retreat facility in México, where he breathed new life into the program as Therapeutic Director, dramatically improving patient outcomes and staff cohesion alike. Daniel strikes a balance between empirical research and mysticism. Bucking the modern tendency to reduce entheogens to neuro-biological processes, Daniel acknowledges mysticism as foundational to the psychedelic experience.

Indigenous influences

Daniel values ancestral knowledge and indigenous cultures, seeking out their perspectives whenever possible. He has been a guest on numerous tribal lands and has received blessings from tribes including the Blackfeet (Montana), Bitter-Salish (Montana), Maasai (Kenya), Navajo (Arizona), and Huna Tingit (Alaska).

Spirit World U.

In May 2023, Daniel founded Spirit World U. (SWU) as a central hub for Daniel's coaching work, an online community, and an ecommerce store promoting values of spirituality and personal freedom. Hosted on Etsy and spiritworldu.com/store, the SWU store offers over 1,300 high-quality products and fast shipping with a 5-star review average.

SWU was founded on the idea that the current state of world devastation, censorship, and aggression can be overcome by each individual's commitment to the truth. SWU aims to create a global culture of brave, mindful, and caring truth-seekers.
